Render Unto Robertson

Sadly here on the East Coast it is almost midnight and it is officially ‘still too close to tell” — no matter what the final outcome – this will certainly boost Santorum’s sails for awhile – until the GOP figures out his nutsy obsession with gays and gay sex is really all he has to show for his platform.  Then Romney can finally do his dance to the sunset of the primary.  Hopefully Iowa will be the clue Bachmann needed to call it a day, and Perry might get the idea its time to pack up his hairspray and head home to Texas.

The big news today was of course Robertson’s claim he and God had a chat and the Lord laid out an anti-obama prophecy, complete with a spoiler to the election that only Pat himself could know.  Geez. If God is going to go around spoiling things — why didn’t he tell me the end to Harry Potter years ago!!!  (Oh, and I’d like to know if the priest in the movie “Doubt” was guilty or not, too, Lord.).   I can’t tell you if Robertson really believes God sends down occasional political diatribes about Democrats  (while war, hunger, and injustice rages all over the world) or if he’s just rating baiting — but either way – I’m sure the Almighty is ready to say – “STOP TALKING!”

Hopefully by the time the Beaglez and I get back up tomorrow morning (and you’ll be reading this) – there will be a clear winner in Iowa, and we never have to hear the name of the state again.

  1. Well at least a lot of people had the good sense NOT to vote for Ron Paul – he scared me as much as Sara Palin.

As for Robertson’s claim – I think God has a few more really important things on his mind than who is going to win the presidency
    Kim.

    • Kim, I definitely agree with you that God really has other matters at heart. I mean, The Bronco’s are in the playoffs – so I’m sure Tebow is taking a lot of God’s time right now. Oh wait…God doesn’t have time…or a favorite football team… :)

Santorum is the big scare to me – he represents a theocracy I am not willing to be a part of. But, Paul doesn’t seem to even believe in government – so it is a little hard to see him be the President of it. :)

  2. Oh my … the new year is only a few days old and Pat Robertson already said something stupid! … and I didn’t know, guess that tells how much I listen for his name … but I did here that Sarah wearing a new doo. Ah … and I didn’t watch any news the night of the Iowa shindig – thus found out in the morning.

    • Well, this is probably a new Record for pat — day 3 of the year and he’s already proven his lunacy. The whole time I was seeing Palin’s commentary of Iowa I just kept thinking — “Frank is somewhere saying “Oh listen to the nincompoop”. :)
