The Ballot is Always Greener…

Virginia is still taking some heat for “not allowing more choice” in the Republican primary – even though all candidates knew the rules and four chose not to enter and two weren’t organized enough.  But, when you look at all the Iowa “choices” – its just more of the same lackluster fish in the barrel.   Republicans should stop asking for an easier balloting process, and start demanding a better class of candidates.

  1. That last sentence – brilliant, just brilliant! I’ll be relieved when the Iowa fuss is over and we can go back to thinking of it as a fly over state.

    • Thanks so much! I’m with you on Iowa … I’ve seen articles all week about how “Iowa really is important” – like they need some kind of state affirmation and a ribbon. But – “Fly by” – is the perfect phrase.

  2. Thank God Virginia is a pro-life, rather than pro-choice state.

    • In Virginia, it just kinda depends on where you live as to community opinion, but by rule law our current fundamentalist governor and laws are very pro-life. Unfortunately, while they care that you get born, they don’t offer much care afterward – poor education choices, poor social programs record, low health coverage, and high crime in major cities. Out here in the country however- not much but cows & beagles. lots and lots of beagles.

  3. I saw that the US is selling jets in the Middle East? Interesting idea. Why spend money being in the middle of disgruntled nations when we can sell them military equipment and profit from somebody else’s war? I question the sanity of politics at times. *_*

    • Wow – Dan – I didn’t know that. – and yet tragically, I am not surprised. It won’t even dawn on us that after they finish bombing each other with the weapons we sell – they will turn around and have the training and weapons to attack us. We didn’t learn from Afghanistan (where we trained and armed Bin Laden) and we won’t learn from Iraq. Sanity questioning is definitely appropriate.

  4. After a night of watching Iowa make, almost, the right choice – 8 votes – then stopping in to read your blog; I have to say two things: 1) I don’t agree with your politics, and 2) God you are the funniest most creative voice on the bloggosphere.

That last line had me cracking up.

Well done, and a view well expressed.

    • Thanks for the awesome compliment, Lee’s Summit. I think the way its supposed to work in democracy is that we don’t have to agree with each other’s politics to both love this country and respect and appreciate each other. I have your blog on my list so people can see different views from mine that are well presented as well. Iowa was more surprising than I expected, and I’m not sure if there will be much of the field left by the time Virginia gets to have it’s say.
